Weeping Tile Installation (Exterior) Alberta
Water Is Pushing Against Your Foundation
Water follows the path of least resistance — and that path is often your foundation wall. When soil around your home saturates after rain or snowmelt, hydrostatic pressure builds against the foundation. Over time, that pressure causes seepage, cracks, and structural deterioration. Exterior weeping tile intercepts that water before it reaches the wall, diverting it safely away.
Signs You Need Exterior Drainage
Exterior weeping tile addresses the problem at the source — before water ever reaches your foundation. It's the most effective long-term solution for chronic moisture issues.
- Wet or damp basement walls, especially after rain
- Efflorescence (white mineral deposits) on foundation walls
- Cracks in the foundation wall with moisture seeping through
- Yard that slopes toward the house or holds water near the foundation
- Failed or absent original weeping tile from the time of construction
How Exterior Weeping Tile Works
Excavation
We excavate around the perimeter of the foundation down to the footing level. For tight access areas, hydrovac excavation may be used to minimize damage.
Old Tile Removal
Any failed original weeping tile is removed and replaced. Clay tile and crushed pipe are common in Alberta homes and need replacement.
New Drainage System
We install new perforated drainage pipe surrounded by clear stone and wrapped in filter fabric to prevent soil migration into the pipe.
Waterproofing & Backfill
The foundation wall is cleaned and waterproofed before backfilling. The excavation is carefully restored to grade.
